Small but powerful, this dainty pretty little agapanthus has masses of flowers over almost two seasons, each pale blue petal striped with a deeper blue down the centre. Its delicate appearance is reminiscent of a bluebell rather than an agapanthus, especially when planted en masse.
Agapanthus africanus ‘Streamline’
APPEARANCE : Slender strappy foliage, straight smooth stems topped in summer with airy clusters of narrow, light sky-blue florets with a deeper blue inner stripe.
PLANTING : Plant in full sun to part shade in the garden for maximum flowering period. Happy in almost any soil. Totally frost hardy once established.
CARE : Mulch and water well until the plant is established, usually around 12 weeks. Protect from frost while small. Deadhead spent flowers to remove seedheads if you don’t want it to set seed. Reapply mulch and apply a slow release fertiliser during spring. Lift and divide when clumps get too large.
