The classic florist protea with compact oval flowerheads, soft dusky pink, each petal fringed in white and the whole bloom soft and velvety to the touch. Good size feature shrub for gardens, long flowering season, lovely foliage, more adaptable and easygoing than other protea varieties.
ORIGIN : native to southern Africa; related to Australian banksia, grevillea, waratah
USE FOR: Feature shrub, natives border, in a large pot, low water use gardens, for cut flowers.
LOCATION: Plant in full sun with well-drained acidic soil, low in pH. Tolerates a light frost and drought spells.
CARE: Mulch and water regularly during the first 4-6 weeks or until the plant is established. Drought tolerant once established and should only need supplementary water in dry spells. Feed with a slow release fertiliser low in phosphorus
