Tarragon – Artemis dranuculus
DESCRIPTION: Tall-growing airy Mediterranean herb with aromatic scent and flavour. This is Russian tarragon which has a milder flavour and is very heat- and drought-tolerant, and frost-hardy.
PLANTING: Sow direct outside Spring, or start it off in pots in the winter in frosty areas. Cover seed to 5mm.
CARE: Water your seedlings while they are young to help them establish. Needs full sun and good drainage to grow best. Harvest the new shoots regularly for chicken and fish dishes.
